It's subjective because it can't be used as a source of truth. Of course "I measured X and my results were Y using methodology Z" can be a statement of fact but X and Z are where the subjectivity lie. For example, benchm

Software benchmarks are super subjective. Michael Larabel at Phoronix and Isaac Gouy of the benchmark game have done a lot in this area. But everyone says you need to take it with a gain if salt (which is often true). There's also TPC-

Yikes. The amount of times I type a message only to delete it, people I'm talking to will probably be horrified if they saw me give a wall of text to be replaced with "cool".

Features get added. So you can't use a match statement in 3.9 but you can in 3.10. If you write a library you need to be conservative in which features you use or applications can't use you. Why not just upgrade applications ASAP?

The author was from Belgium before he passed away five years ago from cancer. His perspective may be rooted in the Belgian experience where health care is affordable, there is a social safety net, and cheap access to mental health support.

Callbacks are insufficient. They do not handle pythons with or javas try-with-resources, making a lot of code break completely. E.g. metrics.

Western Digital is a big supporter of RISC-V because they (probably) plan to replace the Marvell MIPS chips in the HDD devices with RISC-V. But the reason you probably don't get storage superstars is because it's a healthy market.
