I meant first place in the “idiot crown” :) However, I do not understand people advocating for two way bike lanes on avenues. It defeats the point of green waves. It would still be faster to go over to 2nd to go downtown rather than (legall

At this point it’s the e-bikes and the mopeds that are the worst. Drivers will behave like oblivious idiots, but they are predictable idiots. We need an NYPD crackdown on e-bikes/mopeds (mostly delivery riders) to get them off the road

Why do people care so much about the rendering engine? They are also basically the same for most websites people actually care about, the important part is the UI. That being said I’d strongly prefer the native WebKit be used since it would

Cringe is an understatement… I would love to see a company that simply stated the point was to make money. Finance companies feel no shame at this, why are tech companies so cringe with the mission and vision stuff?

Maybe I’m misunderstanding, but why is this practical? It’s a Mac app, WebKit already ships with the OS and can be easily used with WKWebView. Bundling Chrome is a much bigger app size and much more complicated build setup than importing

I am an IC and I outlevel my manager and probably make more than my skip who is at the same level (I have some significant extra performance bonus equity grants), so no. Obviously managers have more direct reports, the definition of an IC i

Management isn’t a promotion, it’s a different job, and being “stuck” as an IC shouldn’t be a thing. There’s nothing wrong with staying on the IC track forever and getting promotions rather than changing to management. You say that there ar

My perspective on this is a little different because I ride a bike in NYC and I do not order delivery food, ever. Thus, I only experienced the negative externalities of these apps on cycling in NYC, and I don't care about delivery fo

That's still low, that's an E7/M2 salary, VP is at least three levels higher (D1, D2, VP1).

In terms of efficiency of bicycles alone, aero frames, deep wheels, carbon fiber. Clipless is also an incredibly significant change, but not as much of efficiency as the others.

Reinventing UI frameworks from absolute scratch is always going to be janky and playing catch-up, on every platform. At least RN uses normal UIKit controls on iOS that work and feel like normal.
