(This is more a comment to the whole thread than this one comment that initiated it) There is no clear answer to what art is, but there are many approaches to try to answer it. That is essentially what Theory of Art (or Philosophy of Art) i

One thing that I wish I knew was the conflict between the parent short-term vs long-term benefits. Imagine there is a big meltdown because the child wants a snack. The parents are exhausted and you just need it to stop. You will have a stro

As a second time parent, looking back now, that is such a good advice. On the first play-through we second guessed ourselves so much. On the second time, we knew where all the good loot was hidden. :) we felt so much more in control. The tr

This is really cool, I love the idea of demonstrating the different approaches that a visualization can take and how it affects the message. It's very useful as a source of inspiration.

This makes me hopeful, the internet can still be interesting when we manage to break away from the attention trap of infinite feed and the prepared content designed to optimize likes. Feels like the raw homepages of a long time ago.

When I am hiring I always look at personal websites if they are available. They provide a more realistic picture of the person and their interests, the resume is too formal an optimized for marketing. If you have a site, and it has content,

I can see that, I take it mostly as a source of inspiration, I don't think we will apply it literally. But going through the process of creating an experience map was so interesting, it helped us realize how little we knew about some p

While I am not in the startup world, I feel like "Continuous Discovery Habits" by Teresa Torres would be a great read covering a similar topic. It talks about how to manage the business needs vs customer needs and focusing on outc

I think a great intro to RPG for young kids (5-6 year-olds) is Little Wizards. It's originally French, but I have a version in English. It combines enough choice and customization to make it interesting, but without being too complex.

Ultimately it's not a question of agreeing or disagreeing, it's a question of respect. We live in a world where either you agree with me in everything or you must be destroyed. The lack of nuance is spot on. The web went from long

If a search engine were to penalize ads, I bet a lot of those old sites would surface. The old web was an "amateur" web, people created sites to share content they were excited about, not to monetize it (or to allow a platform to

That's so true, it's almost like a return to the beginning (Yahoo Web Directory). We need to find a way to curate content that scales but in a way that eliminates the incentive for bad actors to try SEO-like approaches to game the

+1 Also Fastmail, have used it for a few years now, you can add multiple domains and have all email end up into the same inbox with catch all addresses. When you reply you can pick which domain the response comes from.
