It's still the case in the US, pop your SIM out and note it'll still say "Emergency calls only" on your lock screen.

by floren 1y ago
Of course! "†Lifetime calling subject to continued availability of our services , a valid account, and our terms of service." Unless they open it up enough that you can change the VOIP server it uses.

Highly, highly, highly recommend you enable 911 calls by default on all plans -- let parents disable it if they want. Cell phones do this, even without a SIM card. Don't gate safety for $9.99/mo. Edit: "The FCC requires that

How fast are you popping out those kids to have more than 2 children in daycare rather than free public school?

I think literal chattel slaves knew they were pretty bad off but they still had kids. (If you implied sarcasm I apologize, it's extremely hard to tell when dealing with HN posters)

A teddy bear is too bulky for convenience. How about Tamagotchi but it talks to you. Talkagotchi. Basically that horrible Friend necklace but in a cutely-colored egg shape that clips to your backpack. I want to not be alive. edit: when my k

The idea is that the wild-type Streptococcus that already lives in your mouth produces lactic acid, which is bad for your teeth. The modified bacteria produces ethanol instead, which is neutral for your teeth. I don't believe there&#x2

These old cars can be a lot of fun but even the fast ones weren't that fast when taken against a modern family car... take a 68 Mustang, an iconic car as featured in Bullitt, with a 0-60 of 5.4 seconds and compare it to a 2012 Toyota C

An accurate representation of corporate legal's general attitude, yeah... just say no to any request because that covers your ass.

Only corporate legal could freak out over the idea of hiding a single stanza of an 80 year old poem across a dozen resource names where they'll never ever be seen by the average user. If that's not fair use it should be.
