From Wikipedia: > Also in 1958, Rexall employee Joe Coulombe was asked to test the launch of Pronto Markets, a store brand to compete against 7-Eleven. After running six Pronto Markets in the Los Angeles area, Rexall asked Coulombe to cl

As I understand it you can give instructions and probably even build tools to do the benchmarking, it's just that when the Splunk customer runs those tools, they are forbidden to share the results with you or anyone else.

It's Gravwell (gravwell.io). Depending on exactly what you're doing in Splunk, it could be a pretty easy transition, and we've even started writing tools to migrate data out of Splunk and into Gravwell. We've got a free

You can add Splunk to the list of companies with a similar clause. As a Splunk competitor it makes sales a bit harder initially (we can show our product's numbers, but nothing to compare them against), but if you can convince customers

I couldn't even find plain white sugar the last time I looked. They have small bags of "raw" sugar, which is fine for putting in coffee, but not good enough for many baking needs.

It's a worthwhile experiment but the first thing that came to my mind was: oh, everybody exchange cards in the locker room and give each other good reviews--it's anonymous, after all.

There are water taxis, but I think they only go along the SF waterline, between say Fisherman's Wharf and the baseball stadium. There are ferries, but they only go from a very few points in SF to a very few points in Alameda, Oakland,
