Remarkably short blog post. I would have appreciated a "why", to help build the voice of opposition. Also, what about github.com itself?

macOS is using "dot on top of the Close button", to indicate both that there are unsaved changes, and that if you tried to close the window, you would get a prompt asking about unsaved changes. Simpler, more elegant, better integr

Available in English-speaking countries only. I'm from Lithuania, none of Apple services are localised to Lithuanian (they are all in English), but I'm sure we'll have to wait until service is localised to 10+ languages befor

19 hours on 47.4WH battery and x86 CPU seems incredible. Almost unbelievable. M1 Macbook Air has larger, 49.9WH battery, and only boasts 18 hours as maximum battery life.

I've been designing UIs for 15 years, from Photoshop 6.0 to Sketch to Figma. I LOVE Figma. It makes it easy to do things that will be easier to develop, and makes it much harder to do things that "break" layout rules. End res

The main feature that pushes my projects from Starter to Professional is Sharing Libraries, aka Component Publishing. It was never possible in drafts or Starter teams, so these changes don't really do much. Due to the way their prototy

And chips are just some metal and sand, yet we figured out a way to turn them into something very useful. After all, our brains themselves are just "some wires".

I have made a similar site, but just for Lithuanian numbers: https://fbhack.lekevicius.com All the numbers that I know for sure to be in the leak return "not found in the leak" on this site.

I can see a bright future for this approach. Figma is very "constructional" design tool, encouraging the use: - variablized colors and fonts, that can become CSS variables and classes - Components and component hierarchies, that c

There's a lot of semi-incorrect information here. With Optimism, there can be multiple L2 chains, by different "Chain Organizers". When you submit a transaction, you get a receipt from Organizer, a cryptographic promise that

Moving to Optimism L2 will remove miner advantage. Edit: of course, Optimism "Chain Organizers" can front-run, but if they will be run by Uniswap themselves, then they have no incentive to ruin their own product.

On DEXes, or Decentralized Exchanges, you can exchange any standard-compliant token with any other token. No "listings" needed. That's why DEXes warn users to make sure they are trading the real tokens, not their fake clones.

For some reason, #000 or #000000 doesn't always work, but 'black' does. Never spent much time figuring out why.

It is so frustrating to get "Error 403 Forbidden" when visiting from EU. Using US VPN, the page loads fine. It's been 3+ years to figure out GDPR stuff. 403 Error with zero apologies is just terrible.

If you're looking for a screenshot tool for macOS, I cannot recommend CleanShot X highly enough. It in the league of its own, with scroll capture, gifs, even changing your desktop in the screenshot, but not "in reality". I&#x

I wouldn't bet on my phone's processor being functional in the XXIInd century, but this code will likely still be in EVM, ready to run. Sure, it's a very different beast, but I still find it really _cool_.

I absolutely love this. One of the more poetic reasons why I like Ethereum VM is because it seems likely to keep running for a very, very long time. I would take a Long Bet that it will still exist 100 years in the future. With that in mind

Well, if Ethereum 2.0 "never shows up", that's $5.3B locked in a contract[0] that "will never do anything". I think $5.3B is sufficient motivation to get it released. [0]: https://etherscan.io/addres

Nation state wouldn't need to become more powerful than all miners if most miners (more accurately, vast majority of hash power) were located in one, authoritarian country with a penchant of controlling "private" businesses.
