It's for the average user with a decent connection that skips parts of a video. This is tedious, but if you want to buffer a YouTube video try youtube-dl[0] or using VLC. [0] https://rg3.github.io/youtube-dl/

1) Go has a runtime that's included in the binary that you get when you run `go build`. It takes care of garbage collection, goroutines etc. It does not do any JIT compilation afaik. 2) Go compiles fast because it gives up a lot of mod

I think you might be using flash to play the videos. I've used the site on a 5yr old macbook with Chrome and haven't noticed issues.
