There's only acceptable piloting and not. There's no pilot that makes the airline 10x more per flight.

Plenty more, but the economic impact to the airline is the same from any individual pilot.

In general, these are due to union rules. The union decides what the compensation is, and it's largely by seniority. The airline makes no more money from retired military pilots than they do from any other pilot.

The best airline pilot lands the plane the same as the worst.

I click subscriptions, and it's just my subscriptions. Is there some other way that people are not seeing what they subscribe to?

Someday there might be a permanent presence on Mars, where the fuel budget is not the primary concern.

So MOXIEs would inject O2 to a martian habitat, CO2 scrubbers would remove exhaled CO2 from the habitat. I suppose Nitrogen would be initially fed into the system, but then would be unconsumed. I wonder what the power budget to run a MOXIE

This is the first I've heard of this claim, but you seem adamant that this is proven. Would you mind sharing some evidence?

Cell and cable companies are notorious for screwing up the bill (whoops sorry). Autopay in any form, but especially linked directly to your bank account, is just asking to be robbed.

You can enforce a bedtime for any child. You have to consistently enforce it for at least 2 weeks, and you have to consistently wake them up earlier. Depending upon the child, it may be a battle for 2 weeks, but it's a battle you can w

Jetstreams are hundreds of kph. Meaning groundspeed can be hundreds of kph off of airspeed. Meaning GPS is a very poor backup airspeed indicator.

The argument for me ends at productivity. We went full remote in march 2020, and our velocity metrics went up by 60%. All the other arguments (and they are persuasive) are worth an order of magnitude less.

Really cool how you can see Firefox speed enhancements showing up in discrete steps. I am surprised to see Chrome faster than Chromium. What is google doing in their branded flavor?

You can pay for NFL sunday ticket at $200/m, or you can pay $0-$1 to a dodgy streamer who's rebroadcasting the OTA feed from in-region.

Neat. Reminds me of lombok in that it really only affects compile-time and makes for cleaner code in a way that many (but not all) developers would want.

Nah. I'm also not affected by this issue, but I have much more compassion. When I go out to eat with my friends. We all eat about the same, but some are much larger. In general, folks know what to do, and they need help.

In the age of cheap certs, it's not clear to me why we have these enterprises with self-signed certificates. It definitely is a thing, but it seems to be tech debt that we should fix.
