Urbanists apparently want to force people to live shoulder-to-shoulder. As soulless as suburbs can be, they should be recognized as attempts to escape having to interact with people, especially strangers, on a constant basis, which is a gre

I could see them using something like they did with NuBus — something similar to the declaration ROMs could make this sort of configuration work nicely, as long as part makers played according to the specs.

It would be fantastic for an OS to mandate a particular type of installation (oh how I miss dragging app packages from a .dmg into my Application directory & being done with it) while preventing anything else.

It kind of is — except the name given to Moses is closer to "I Am Who I Am", which is consonant with the rest of the OT/NT, where God is known by what he does & what he says (revealing the contours of his character) inste

It does bring that to mind, especially given the era he came out of. Likely, however, what he is trying to get at is the distinction between God/not God: existence is something a thing which is not God — a neutrino, a squirrel, a roc

Their arguments are generally only about cavities, not about plaque buildup. Amazing how people always want to go to pharmaceuticals first instead of checking out other, simpler options.

Action Retro ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GW2V034859k ) suggests that Haiku can be a daily driver, & does pretty well. Considering giving it a flight on my occasionally-used lappie.

Interesting. I have autoplay turned off in my browser, & I don't get recommendations of the like you mention, which makes me think that that's enough to keep that "feature" from activating.

Just got some MoCA adapters, & they've been great. Not quite gigabit speed, but the ones I got only go to 1 or 2.5 if there are only two, while we have three in place. It's made the whole house much more usable — older houses

Ecosystems on Earth might be a better way of thinking about this. Notice how we do not see one organism or type of organism squeeze out all the others, or work to take in all energy available to them; this is also true of human settlements,

True. Yet I think the idea is sound — if a publisher / rights holder refuses to put a work into print or make it available, they should not be able to keep it away from the public. Copyright is a benefit given to authors & publishe
