It's really more of an issue of space / weight, it's pretty easy to setup a water recycling system on earth just by using the right soils, plants, etc.

I dunno but I can tell you that if I was an indentured servant I would under no circumstances accept a free lobster dinner more than thrice a week. I hear that Facebook employees don't even have such minimal guarantees as indentured se

It makes it worse when they say they are propping up the market, if the market is at a relative peak and daddy warbucks shows up saying he'll buy anything no matter the cost, of course everyone is going to get out while the getting is

What China did just put out a giant flashing neon sign that they will buy any (overvalued) asset at the current market price. Every owner of an equity is lining up to sell their assets to the big idiot with the giant flashing neon sign sayi

Even if there were only one package of internet available globally there would still be tiered internet, you can pay for that one package, or you can not pay for it. The only way we'd have universal untiered internet is if there was so

The problem is it's a motorcycle race and you're on foot the only thing is you're so bad a math you don't even realize you're in a motorcycle race. This is the same issue that people have with card counting, wheel s

The skill you point out is also generally luck, the only time skill comes into play is when you're doing something that the casino will kick you out / stop offering those terms

There is always risk, a series of unfortunate events can drain a casino, the casino tries to mitigate these risks through the rules/odds.

No one laments the lack of cow milking jobs, a world where humans don't have to work and instead can pursue creative goals is ideal, I want to see a world where food is just replicated from raw energy.

The technology kills jobs argument is so fucking stupid it's unbelievable, in 1700 we had 600 million people. Fast forward to 2015, we have 7 billion people the vast majority who are employed. If technology killed jobs we'd have l

I think swift really found the sweet spot in this regard by not thinking about mutability but value/reference semantics. I've found that in swift the things that should be values are and the things that should be references are, r

Interfaces which use the pattern: struct foo bar; foo_init(&bar); Can be very annoying in swift, it does play nicely with CoreFoundation which does not use this pattern

The general trend is away from this and towards containers which leave it up to a monolithic kernel to secure individual processes. Most people run VMs for hardware utilization purposes.

I believe there's supposed to be an element of realism to the game. Building new housing is hard enough, imagine trying to convince SF to do away with zoning bylaws. The rule that Marin can't be upzoned is hilarious.

Yup, don't do shared mutable state. It is the enemy. Avoid it like the plague. I really love value semantics with structs in swift, it's almost always the right thing, and generally very clear when it isn't. If anyone ever pr

Meh. MVVM just moves the problem, so what if your view controllers are testable but now your ViewModel isn't. You need to be testing those 400 lines of code. Since it's UI code that usually breaks when exposed to weird patterns ju
