I appreciate you taking the time to summarize all this; I've only begun writing in earnest this past year and I'm glad to know that the habits I'm working on developing now are sustainable for the long term.

I would simply familiarize with just the basics because you don't have to go much further than that to make use of it for research purposes. My usual process involves breaking the process down into multiple stages (cleansing, conforman

Nothing feels cleaner than storing everything (notebook, raw data, cleansed data, misc scripts, etc.) in a docker image when you're finished with the project. Data science and docker are meant to be besties.

Just compared a few coins from coinbin to http://coincap.io/front/ and the prices seem to differ, so my initial instinct is to say no, but dev feedback would be great :) EDIT: Just looked through the source of the proj

This is one of those perfect "I had a problem, made a solution, and others think it's neat" posts that make HN impossible to miss. Well done!

Yo songzme, I have to thank you for throwing this up because as a result, I've since stumbled on 3Blue1Brown and his awesome video on crypto and math in general. You linked his video the same day he posted it, and I couldn't have

IMHO, I wouldn't consider yourself late to the party. There's a ton of work being done on the EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) and new languages are coming out for it (like Viper). The biggest challenge at the moment is knowing whic

I've noticed a new phenomena when it comes to posts on HN that criticize or complain about something I like. I find myself really drawn to it because I know that the comments will have people respectfully disagreeing and proposing alte

Could be a paid feature, I wouldn't mind paying for advanced features like that. I've been searching for a personal, non-sales oriented "CRM" platform for months now and am currently using Accompany but this feels far mo

I'm surprised by the progress and uptake of the node vm lib; it's really found a ton of cool business models. From powering the Screeps game world, enabling smart message routing for PubNub BLOCKS, to stuff like this. I'm exc

I love seeing cloud providers offering better deals, the more the merrier! However, I still have yet to find a better deal than the one Scaleway offers. ~$3/mo for a dual-core, 2GB RAM, 50GB SSD host. They also support terraform, ranch

TL;DR - Sell BTC on Shapeshift for XMR, Sell XMR on XMR.TO for BTC. You're basically tumbling the coins through third parties. In reality this has little to do with BTC/XMR but more of a generalized strategy to obfuscate via alt-s

Quicksight has been frustrating to work with to say the least. Generic error after error with no debugging info, poor integration with Athena, lacks the ability to plot data more granular than hourly, and with a max limit of 4 decimal preci
