There are roms that test accuracy. Hardware will return 100% and emulators will receive less. I believe there are some psx test Roms that no emulator gets 100%. I know for a fact there are n64 test Roms that don’t get close on an emulator.

Spot on. Every time I want to do X in Firefox and it takes me more than a few seconds to figure it out I get frustrated and use chrome. I do need to break this bad habit though. Maybe I’ll try again this week!

I really need to learn the Firefox debugger. My years of chrome debugger muscle memory has tied me to that product (at least for work which is 95% of my desktop browsing) Personally I’m a mobile personal browser person which is safari. I ca

There’s a required RAM module for most cores that slides into the de10 nano. The software and the Linux kernel are also tightly coupled. Individual cores can be ported to different FPGAs though. The SNES one for example was recently ported

I’m unsure what you mean about hardware emulation not being reliable. Save states is a good point. SNES for example does not have them. Adding that stuff as an after thought is extremely tricky. Most newer cores are creating with save stat

I was lucky enough to get in on this when the boards were ~$130. It’s one of my favorite pieces of tech. It “just works” and the UI is very good. Updating is super easy and it even goes and grabs the MAME Roms for you. CPS2 games feel much

Meritocracy has its issues as well. A lot of people got 200 points from private schools and tutoring that may not be available to a lot of the disenfranchised.

I think a lot of people think it’s “safe” is it’s been used for thousands of years and has relatively well tolerated. It’s nice to get more specific info like this though.

We also use server side encryption. But honestly encrypting the files before putting on s3 has given us 0 grief and gives us a feeling even if we somehow are “hacked” the files are useless to the hackers.
