I think the point is that people want to be useful, especially if they're good at something. If people can't work (for whatever reason), we really shouldn't be trying to make them. That just burdens their coworkers/peers

Crunchy granola digital soyboy here: I can't think of any reason why this is a good idea since tools already exist to disable voting and comments for PR. Heat, kitchen, etc. It's the money; probably Hollywood. Maybe the Whitehouse

You're in the boat of deploying OpenWRT or similar low-cost APs presenting the same SSID on a shared VLAN, plugging them into your favorite PoE switch, and manually configuring their channel strengths, etc. It isn't so bad if it&

I think they mean that you have to read in the whole archive (incl. decompression) to see all the files; that there's no option for an index that can be immediately seeked.

TBH it was one of the things I liked about Slashdot. Essentially everyone was thrown into a pool and was expected to moderate, but it was completely random. You also got thrown into a pool to meta-moderate. Those whose meta-moderation score

I think the trick would be to realize that the texture on the mirror or portal represents the same screen height and position, just at the virtual screen location of the mirror/portal player behind it. So you render the screen space co

The way Portal works was to render the world from two different camera angles, one at the portal exit, and the player view, and then combine them with a stencil buffer. This allows for recursion if desired. It also allows for moving portal

>(remember when SlashDot was the HN? It’s now the place to go, if you want ASCII-art swastikas). I think it's always been like that. The GNAA (when it was new back in early 2000s) was copying the template of existing trolls by chall

While the sentiment is generally understood, you should really mention that the type B didn't fix the main issue of Type A, in that it didn't recess the face and/or extend the prongs with a protective sleeve.
