We're saying the same thing I think: If the destination IP is not encrypted (because how would routers be able to route it otherwise) then why would this only work with http and not https traffic? That was my question.

I'd like an answer to this also! It sounds like cloudflare spent the time to do away with hiding ip addresses. Actively removing that feature of a VPN, which you should get for free in a wireguard implementation, seems fishy to say the
