Never heard of Freicoin before this... While the theory is interesting, it is kind of hard to market such a product in the presence of alternatives that don't "rot".

To be accurate, it was sarcasm, not lecturing. This is lecturing: "If you are anything close to hacker do yourself a favor and use something else."

I don't use transparency and I think it smells like feature creep... but taking it away from those who have become semi-dependent on it is very different from having the foresight to have not added it in the first place. I think those users

I'm running LMDE and I've got all the goodies by default. If there is something else that the package manager doesn't cover, I do this amazing thing... I download the source and make! Crazy, I know.

agreed; edited my point was that these businesses that produce products with short life cycles are process oriented; can be very rewarding... VC won't come knocking, but that isn't always a bad thing.

Pretty awesome watching the technological innovation around Bitcoin. I personally don't have any, but just from following the progress and learning, I am starting to dabble with technologies (FPGAs, for example) in my research that I comple

I gave up cable TV three years ago and honestly don't miss it. I still have Internet (Netflix, Amazon Prime, NoWhere TV) and the options for providers in my area are limited... but it worth it just to pay less to Comcast. This bill, if it e

As you point out, I think it is one thing to offer and another to ask... the former is part of a marketing strategy. I would do it, but there would be a fee for the hassle and my legal expenses.

I'm leaning towards "both," but I just got lectured by an MBA that the "correct" answer is disruptive.

Those are just cashers... you have to be stupid to take that job. This reminds me of a Canadian syndicate from a few years back... never caught the top guy (rumored to be British). Any followers of the Pink Panthers out there?

Here is the general algo: Make a ton of money, surround yourself with yes-men/women, make asinine statements based on intensive market analysis (sample size of 1), use your PR machine to recast tax avoidance as philanthropy.
