Counterfeiting, IMO and apparently the opinion of the Government (we rarely agree, for the record), is basically on par with treason.

You're comparing violent crime (robbing a bank) with non-violent crime (illegal immigration).

> All I did was rob a bank I totally understand how somebody might look at that situation and say "gee, he did only rob a bank because the guy who died was his accomplice", but at the same time... he robbed a bank! Had he not r

Really great list. #61 can not be overemphasized and includes blogging. I got one of my blog posts in a phd thesis last year (tried so hard to hire that kid!).

I think the point is to apply social pressure. I agree that it can be obnoxious, but I would argue that is part of the social contract one makes with public repositories. It can also be managed on the recipient's side as well (email se

I wonder how much rhino/elephant tusk powder sold is actually from the said animal. Seems like a really tough thing to authenticate and an excellent return for the counterfeiter.

I think we should replace "10X" with "1X" and all the existing "1X" should be re-labeled "1/10X". Nothing motivates the drones like negative reinforcement. Also, I'm hiring. ;)

I've always attributed "known knowns" and "unknown knowns" etc to Nassim Taleb, not Rumsfeld.

I think your theory might be a tad overly optimistic with regards to the character of these officers. I think the amount of infrastructure they set up to execute the crime indicates complete understanding of the law. That is very different

It is all pretty disgusting, be it bottom-feeders or beef in the lot. Our protein sources are generally grown and nourished in close vicinity to massive amounts of faeces. At least lobster is free range. I think the idea of producing cricke

In the one case of a successful exit, I was able to pull off enough of a salary bump that it more than compensated for what I could have gotten with equity. There may end up being one that proves me wrong, but overall, I think equity has ge

Racket's website ( http://racket-lang.org/ ) has an "explain" button by the code snippet. Is the existence of such a button perhaps a statement about the quality of the syntax?
