Not quite to a typical engineering process but I'm guessing it's much better than a typical open source project where people just keep hacking the code and do not care much the quality (security, performance, code quality, etc). I think the

There are some truth in your statement. But as for Ruby (and Rails), for those who bought the magazine would be greeted by a person's column (sorry I forgot his name, but he has a PhD I think) who always covered what the Ruby crowds are int

Is BDD = TDD? Or more like Acceptance Test? To my understanding, we need both. As in, we need TDD for unit-level, and BDD/Acceptance Test (like Fit/FitNesse) for high-level. Is this correct? Pardon me if I'm not really high into these vario

I agree with you Jason. It doesn't mean I know Python. Perhaps I should use the phrase "basic Python" instead of just Python. But the point that I'm trying to make is that it's so much easier to learn and build something using Python, even

I was able to learn Python in 2 weeks (lazily) using just Byte of Python. Of course I can't build something clean and "Pythonic" with that kind of knowledge, but I managed to build a simple CRUD selling books online app using SQLAlchemy, Ch

In BC, if you are a hi-tech company, you are eligible to receive SR&ED (given by the government, but you need to fill some paperworks). In the short-term, it's great because it gives your company some money to survive. In the long-term,

Those skills are not specifically for corporate jobs by the way. A typical MS shops (regardless what you build) will require at least .NET 2.0/3.5 with ASP.NET (not even MVC), WPF, WCF, WWF, Silverlight, and SQL-Server. A typical Java shops

This might not be a valid excuse but look around at our industry: overtime everywhere. If you've been working 10-12 hours a day, you don't necessary have the power to learn on your own at the end of the day. That's why sometime I'm not surp
