Gadgets don't die, their users do. Every single computer that was ever made is still out there, and a use could be found for them, somewhere in the world. We just don't have the resources to distribute 'old' computers f

Sure there are scientific ways to go about things. But the idea that there is 'safe thought' and 'dangerous thought' is just plain batshit lunacy. A lot of amazing stuff we take for granted today started off with "

How is this ugliness a solution? How about just name the binaries properly - I'd rather just prefix my commands with ~/bin.me/<blah> and keep ~/bin out of my PATH, than futz with horrid looking names. Or, even be

I had an Oric-1 in those days and cut my teeth porting the games in this book to the Oric. The cassette tape with my work is long since perished, but I do still have the drawings from those books burned in my brain, like a searing brand. ;

I have run into a few of these, I do have to admit, but I don't find any of these to be show-stoppers, necessarily .. like you I like the ES-series, in spite of the flaws. It's comfortable, once you move in. One last question, pl
