I understand the issues with comments but I feel publishers are making a mistake. NPR recently said their comments are non-representative of their total listeners and are annoying to users and take time to moderate, so… they’ll remove them

Okay. So I’m no UX expert, just a developer and I’ve also worked in product management. I think at some point, if you work in this field, you have to develop instincts around the design and experience of things. A modal (i.e. app-locking)

Hmm… I’m not spiteful, I just don’t have any hope for improvement. iTunes has been chronically bad, I could find thousands of other articles and testimonials about that. At this point the issue is clearly endemic to the product. Constructiv

Great points. I don't know about the 90s, but in this era, you either want founder-level equity or market salaries. There's too much uncertainty about the outcome, too many circumstances that can affect it, and too long a time win

While we're at it, these are great interviews and I'm glad they're being created and published, and I'd appreciate if the series was available as a podcast... I only noticed this new interview because I happened to be on

A few things. I'm not American (I'm from India) and I think that fact, plus your point about Yelp, gets to the flipside: that American social media giants' standards are actually more relaxed than the media of many countries,

It's true that Facebook (and Twitter, Youtube, etc.) are expressing the point of view of the platform creators as to 'acceptable content' and it's worth pointing out. On the other hand, if I made a product that hosted us

I think there's at least two reasons. With Twitter or Facebook the problem is that they're dependent on network effects so asking for payments from users is out of the question, they would never get to 100s of millions of users th
