Yea the idea that the computers can truly think by mimicking our language really well doesn't make sense. But the algorithms are black box to me, so maybe there is some kind of launch pad to AGI within it

Question is, will SD3 be downloadable? I downloaded and run the early SD locally and it is really great. Or did we lose Stable Diffusion to SAAS also? Like we did on many of the LLMs which started of so promising as for self hosting goes

It is the easiest to assume the worst for sure, but Microsoft is not the same as the Bill Gates era so Im gonna be a cautious optimist on this one. Lets hope it is to promote Azure, and they dont push the OpenAI route when it comes too open

fail2ban has calmed attacks (ssh dictionary mostly) from 100-1000s per day to about a dozen, on my private rpi thing. I assume most attackers are looking for low hanging fruit with little (cheap) effort.

I care alot about the local impact of lower speed; less noise, road wear and tire wear generating unhealthy stuff in the air and water. Driving slowly sucks, and I assume has costs like lost productivity. But the public good of lower speed
