I saw this effect off the beach near me a few weeks ago, it was quite captivating as the breakers were lit up as if by an underwater neon (I actually thought it was an artificial light show of some kind at first). But although deeply impres

This is an architecture preference disguised as a tool review. It should be called "Reasons why I don't like client-side web programming and prefer to work with server-side logic".

Developers will view REST APIs with the same dismissive disdain reserved today for SOAP/COM/CORBA. In 5 years time there'll be something much cooler, probably based on GIT. (GIT will live forever.) The hot in-demand skill wil

Is there some problem with macros in the new SDK? Or is it that your macros are specific about word size?

Here's something that infuriates me more. I go to canistream.it to find that a movie is available for rental on iTunes for $2.99. I then open iTunes to find that here in Australia they will charge me $4.99 Australian, which is $4.42 US

But you can't deploy your Go to iOS. Or your Swift to Linux. I'm getting interested in Nimrod (or Nim as I think it's planning to become). Compiles to native binaries via C, C++ or ObjectiveC. Even compiles to JavaScript. So

No I didn't know about that, thanks. I guess I was more thinking about run-on-your-own-hardware/cloud - which I know is not equivalent to the MS offering. I see orands post about FoundationDB, which also looks interesting. Seems l

To decline an opportunity (choosing to bequeath to nobody) is not the same as to be denied that same opportunity. The latter could be discrimination, the former case could not, as who would be the discriminator?

Thanks, I actually didn't know about sarcasm and wit being frowned upon (is it documented somewhere) - this helps explain why an earlier comment of mine[0] which I considered a valid counterpoint to the parent was downvoted. [0] https
