Sure, but to me that's on a different spectrum/axis from being independent thinkers. Both extremes on the axis of being a good citizen or being a conspiracy theorist are still following group think. But that is a concern as well,

Agreed entirely. The goals of our factory system education are not in the best interest of the individuals participating. We home school largely for that reason...I want my children, both our boy and girls, to have individual creative thoug

I don't think it's simple enough to give a single answer to or to be able to answer entirely (and I'm not an expert at all), but I think there's a lot of factors...sexism, the competition at the top level and the natural

When the rules are to "sit still" and "be quiet", yes, probably so. Boys are diagnosed with ADHD at a rate of 12.9% vs 5.6% for girls [1]. I've heard many counselors and psychologists (in my counseling program) sugg

For the Pauline epistles comment, do you mean Greek? The earliest manuscripts I'm aware of are all Greek, and I don't think it's a debate that they were. Or are you saying there were aramaic scripts that were inspirations? I&

I agree, for the actual handling part, I think CL's error system is the best I've seen, and I'm surprised that more languages don't implement a similar system. It doesn't solve the issue of forcing programmers to ha

I'm curious if Skynet or something similar could be used for that? I don't pretend to understand any of the modern blockchain frameworks, but a peer-to-peer distributed and encrypted system seems to fit the bill (possibly non-bloc

Exactly, it's a 1st amendment issue because it's a monopoly (or mutual anti-competitive practices) issue. So you're entirely correct. If the big tech companies weren't engaging in anti-competitive practices, then the cen

To be fair, CNN has proven multiple times in the last few years that their credibility is worth very little. They have a VERY extreme slant to the left, so much so that news casters were even becoming anti-vaxxers against the Covid-19 vacci

I'm not sure if you're applying that statement in mass or not, but I have seen this reasoning from both sides, straw-manning people into a belief system and calling them irrational because they disagree. I see this much more about

Maybe unrelated, but there's actually largely even distribution of anti-vaxxers between left and right. It's not an issue split by political affiliation. You could say the same about conspiracy theorists, but it'd probably be

Do you have examples of the direct calls to violence and insurrection? Supposedly there were three tweets that Twitter required trump to delete, but I don't see the actual text of them anywhere.

I'm similar in that I learned to hide my west Texas accent pretty well. I've started to embrace my accent more though in that it's always useful when people reveal their prejudices, and I'd rather people take me as I am.

The part you're missing of the Puritan (Calvinist) theology though is that we're all sinners deserving only of condemnation with nothing deserving or redeemable in ourselves, but God chose to show us mercy and redeem us anyway. No

The issue I have with API design goes much deeper...if you have a structured database, a statically typed language, and want validation, you're writing 3 separate schemas that all do slightly different but not really different things.

No, of course not, in your analogy. If all systems and locations served the same purposes, everyone should have equal say. But that's not the case at all. What we're actually talking about are segments of people who hold largely t
