That's valid, except most of them have their own solution partners. What I mean is, does Netflix want to invest the resources that would necessitate making this an offering for all but the biggest customers. Keep in mind, Netflix is one of

But would that have great business potential to them? For Amazon, having that infrastructure helped create not just future products (Instant Video, Amazon Music Cloud, Amazon Cloud Drive, the Kindle and Kindle Fire backend systems), but was

This is a really, really smart move. Already QuickOffice was the best mobile app to edit/access Google Docs and Drive files, now it's official. Google has needed a good native offline file editor for mobile, now they have one.

Right you are -- I misspoke there. Like you, I opted MAS for Coda 2 for iCloud -- especially since I imagine that'll come in handy for Diet Coda in the future.

As good as Wolf's points are, it doesn't change the fact that more and more Mac developers are starting to shift to a MAS-preferred market. At this stage, even though I would rather buy most of my apps direct from developers, I'm often ha

So obviously the guy needs legal advice, and ASAP. We obviously also only know part of the story, and from his perspective. Still, something here smells really, really bad. As a media professional, my advice is to take this to the public if

No. It can't. And that's why it has been an utter failure in the marketplace. Google toyed with subsidizing the costs more to try to use it to push more enterprise services to business and education customers but it never gained traction (a

I cannot believe the pricing fail here. It's insanely overpriced for what it is -- and the reality is -- from someone who has tested one of these new Chromebooks -- the thing STILL has major usability issues. Chrome OS has too many bugs to

At least with Coda 1, Ruby and Python are supported too -- and JavaScript, obv. But it's not as robust as some more hardcore text editors.

Looks good. TextMate remains my go-to editor (and that's not going to change, it's just not), but I've always appreciated Coda when doing WordPress work. The new features make it look like for WordPress or other MySQL-backed CMSes, it'll be

He certainly wasn't using this for PR, I know Dan would have preferred for the whole thing to never become a big spectacle on the front page of HN, with YouTube songs and Twitter riots. But when something IS public, responding is often nece

I was always under the impression that the delay in push notifications (which you also see with Twitter for iOS, even in the Tweetie era) was a result of NoSQL databases used for notification points. I know Facebook is MySQL, but it would m

Indeed -- I actually meant developers interested in doing native 64-bit codecs, assuming there would be advantages. In truth, having hardware optimized support would be ideal, but the reality is that H.264 is quickly becoming the dominant c

Eventually. There is too much legacy code that runs on QT for it to deprecate now, but QT 7 was really the last full version. QT X has drastically reduced dev access to tools and as more media handling becomes browser centric and H.264 base
