Sure, programming is a job, like working on cars is a job. You can be mechanic in a small town, or work for an F1 team. It's your call. Just take a step back and ask, "what is the company I work for trying to do?" And if you

I mean, I don't wanna draw conclusions, but it's very strange that so many accounts are compromised compared to, say, facebook. On facebook, it happens, but it's because you were phished. Too bad there's no insight from

Maybe I'm out of line, but if you're planning on tearing into what's wrong with something, try to offer something positive as well. Your feedback was great and constructive, it's just not very nice . I'll be honest

This looks really cool, I can't wait to hack around with this! Question for the community: I don't have enough experience to know how this stacks up against other servers out there. Also, how do the people HN enjoy using java as a

I agree that saying,"Ideas are worth nothing" is kind of weak, and I'd like to explain why. Ideas are cheap and contagious, execution is expensive and risky. When I think about the concept of an "idea" vs "exec

This is actually remarkably similar to Backbone.MarionetteJS, only, swap the O with C for Controller (but don't be fooled, even their docs say it's not the most fitting name). For those interested in learning more about Marionette

This looks really cool. My intention was to poke at it, check the source, etc.. and when I was presented with a signup form, I swam away. Please, if you could, try making a publicly available demo (without signup).

Actually, I think M$ just bought themselves a lot of power. Microsoft's achilles heel was always hardware, and Nokia's was software until recently when they started pushing Windows Phone OS. So the way I see it, M$ just bought a h

It's not seperated from the text at all. I feel that if it looked nicer (like GitHub in that they seperate it out) would be more pleasant to share and review code. Maybe I'm just asking for too much, tho.

Honestly, if you're just starting out, go with Backbone. Start there, then add marionette to the mix. From there it'll be a lot easier to understand ember or angular. Ember will feel a lot more natural from that point though. The
