Just disable Defender's real time scanning when you run the resultant script, otherwise it will protest. A lot. (Not just when you first run it, but the whole time.)

That was how I initially approached them. I told them I made a mistake with my birth date and asked if there was any way to correct it. They asked me to send a photo ID with my name and birth date, which I assumed was to replace the old dat

Yep. That's how I learned that I need the photo ID with the original date of birth. My last e-mail was asking if there is any other way to delete the account but so far I haven't heard anything.

I lied about my birth date and apparently there's no way to delete your data without the fake date or a photo ID... with the fake birth date... sigh

I appreciate the effort (and unlike others, I like the lengthy explanation and supporting links), but you lost me at subscription. The model is untenable for the (average) consumer and I can't in good conscience support an all-rental f

For what it's worth, the FAQ has a section about NAT. If you click on 'Help' it also specifically mentions the use case of: "... checking and verifying your NAT router's WAN-side security..."

I would be remiss if I didn't mention Steve Grand. He's been chasing this dream for many, many years. If you remember Creatures, it was his first attempt at artificial life. Sadly the computing capabilities in 1991 weren't en

I think the reasoning is that ultrawide / larger monitors are becoming more common and it's easier / faster to access the taskbar from the center than moving the mouse to the far edge. And if it's not easier, they have a

Situational, I suppose. I still have an active project that's not quite 30 years old (it's mid-20's) that I reference old notes for all the time. Actually... I reference a lot of notes from at least 20 years ago. There is a l

To be fair to the UI, there's also an 'Eject' option in the menu bar when you've selected the disk. There's also a keyboard shortcut. Dragging it to the trash is just more fun! Actually, if memory serves, dragging t

Same. I recently bought a Kindle Scribe (would have preferred Kobo, but enh) to see if that would make it easier than constant printing and shuffling papers. It's alright. Better than a monitor, slightly less good than paper.

I see at least two advantages: speed and a consistent cross-platform interface. Unless you have a 10 gigabit LAN, browsing large media files over a home network is slooooow. Having everything indexed allows you to do instantaneous searches

Whoever cast him in that Star Trek: The Next Generation episode did a fantastic job. I don't have anything intelligent to add, just wanted to say this is pretty cool to see.

Isn't activation lock part of the firmware, not macOS? It might work on an older Intel Mac with a T2 chip (you can jailbreak those, entertainingly enough), but probably not on the ARM ones.

I think the disconnect is not understanding how the RAM is used. If the average user looks and sees all of their RAM in use, they're going to think that there's no more room for the applications that they want to launch. They don&

As a fellow tab hoarder, I recommend Auto Tab Discard. Tabs are still open but aren't actually loaded until you click on them. With various configurable options for how that works. I have five windows open with about 1000 tabs in each,

That seems like a bold statement. I know a loooot of macOS users (myself included) and none of us ever use fullscreen. Without some kind of data in hand, it's anecdotal either way, so I figured I'd throw my hat in.
