my favprite notfavorite win11 feature is that they broke keyboard layout switching, permanently. It has been reported as an unsolved bug for nearly two years now :-/. in 25+ years, I had been taking it for granted to work correctly. Ap

imgur itself is an empty husk of its former self. Last time I visited their site, they had fired all their moderators and replaced them with AI. They were bought at some point by .. media labs? I don't recall their name, but I recall t

I mourn that the scrollbar has been hunted to extinction, even on windows 11 desktop. Windows explorer slowly starts to behave like a web page app. If you enable many columns in the explorer file view, this design is bonkers: To navigate

To add to the chorus, IMHO this is a jumping-the-shark language feature. Having the problem this feature addresses, is a code smell. I use the ?-indexer for READING stuff, but try to limit such uses to logging and diagnostics, where they sh

I got the sense in the latter half, that he/it was trying to promote a work or book; I think there is a link to some follow up material or book he wants to you buy or access.

I don't agree. It is the main way I am being informed that some sites I attempt to use, share my data with thousands of external partners, for no relevant function. I do not believe this information would be divulged to me and the publ

considering what a table saw is capable of, I advice to treat it with respect. My old father recently reattached the safety guard on his, in order to keep his remaining fingers.

The scope of TFA is data modelling, where it advises to use more descriptive data values, such as enums or happenedAtTimestamp. However, personally I agree with the advice, in another context: Function return types, and if-statements. Often

There is a problem with this. Trump is just a wrecking ball. The problem is not the ball, the problem is the holes it leaves behind. Whoever replaces Trump, will arrive in the driver's seat of a vehicle which has had plenty of its safe

audience scores, as I view them, is very much an indicator of "did the marketing connect to the intended audience?" A great movie that met the wrong audience, will reasonably get a low score.

I wonder what dr detroit did wrong to be bombed into oblivion; he is not fully wrong. As an example, the HCA story 'tinderbox' is clearly built from earlier borrowed cloth. As a dane myself, it is apparent that HCA didn't eve

In spite of what some others have said, and knowing we have 2025 and AI, I still was rather impressed and pleased with this. I tried to play an evasive hobbit trying to put off Gandalf and the dwarves, but still they insisted. I find this h

I am probably an uneducated cretin, but I have my preferences anyway. I am in Denmark, and in Denmark, you can get "sharpie pens" ( ) from the brand LYRECO, which I am very fond of, particularly of their high quality and durabilit

It depends on what you mean by 'ban'. In the country where I live (Denmark), they are very much banned, unless you can demonstrate your legitimate current use case for them. In particular, you are not allowed to wear them in pu

consider mobile apps on android and apple. they are an example of internet without browser. you only get widely used standard browsers if big money sees a moneymaking point in having them.

the protocols are going if they are not enforced by a google. google was the "US" that gave you the post-WW2 "peace" on the web. The big players only follow "your" standards when it suits them.
