The purposes are probably as many as there are protestors? Wikipedia lists some of the organization participating. I don't think they try to keep it secret. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No_Kings_protests_(October_

It was probably premature. But the relation between USA and the Arabic states were on an all time low after the Bush Crusade. And Obama reached out to fix the relations. This is my recollection of it. But i can agree that the rushed decisio

I think rather your post summarizes AI threads on HN. Capitalism is what it is, and has been so for the last 200 years. The alternatives have always proven worse. In my (small) country we have had many crises like this. Textile industry, sh

Yes. The first programmers used computers as a necessity to get things done. Difficult mathematical calculations, a fancy control system. This is where we should be. Using computers to solve problems. Not just "doing programming".

I'd imagine the amount drilling is dependent of the quality of the mountain you are drilling. If it is pure granite it is easy, but if it is a mix of other softer materials it is a lot of work.

That desk thing hits a nerve as someone on the other side of it. It is not about "hot desk" but just not being able to see that some time you will need to reorganize how you sit. And not everyone will get the perfect spot. Is it r

You are right of course and I was out of my depth. I wonder if the vector types now being added to databases for ML/AI stuff could help with this.

I'd imagine 90% of the kalman filters out there are for 2 or maybe 3 dimensions, since the use case is mostly this, determining a position. The filter fails is when there is not a single "true" answer to aim for, but there ar

I have done this with AWS Athena. At the end of the day a kalman filter is just a number of multiplications and divisions. My version would calculate one step at a time so it is a bit simplified (since that was a requirement, processing one

I figured it would be something like this. And vectors as rows in a regular table would be too slow then?

I did not read that as "extremely disrespectful". At least not for a document someone decided to share with everyone on the internet. He spoke his mind, it was not super polite, but in no way extreme.
