Generally it seems that you know what you are doing, so the idea looks good. However I've got few comments: 1. Lack of schema is a horrible idea, especially at the beginning. It may be necessary in some selected places, but if that

SQLAlchemy is an orm, not a database. Find out what your database will be and check if it has support for full text search. Some do, some don't.Also look at solr and elasticsearch.

Official aws cli client is written in python and supports every aws feature, so you could not go wrong with that. I wouldn't touch PHP and Node - to fragile and messy to depend on them. So API-wise python would be my first choice, java

Yes, you are missing a framework. With a decent one you'll get all of that for free, without doing anything at all . Try Django, and you'll get user, validation, authentication and more out of the box.

Hm, I've never tried that, might work. I've needed this for running tests, where I really don't care for reliability, so I've just set tablespace on ram fs. Creating new files would still cause fs writes, but it might n

First, postgres really is great. The few things I'll list here do not make me willing to replace it with something else, however: 1. Tooling is not on par with other databases. If you want nice GUI that holds your hand and does everyth

I see two options. 1) - let them do it. Give them list of requirements, 2 days, then pass it to QA and let them deal with all the fixes. Then measure how much time it actually took to get 100% of required functionality. That's the best

I'm in similar situation and rust worked well for me, also having practical benefit of nicely complementing python. Otherwise you may try something functional: f#, scala or haskell.

You can write databases and other things in java/scala and people sometimes do so (though often use lower level languages for more control), but to do it efficiently you'll need deeper understanding of how whole stack works, inclu
