Great article. It's nice to see journalists do actual investigative work, even if it is for something like this. Today's "journalism" seems to be all link-bait opinion pieces mixed in with copy-pastes from twitter.

Not sure if it's Federal or CA law but you have to be making over a certain amount, though, to be exempt. In my last company that way everyone in the engeering dept. making under 70K (so, all of QA and tech support)

Plan Event Free in the call to action button is a little odd, should probably be Plan Event For Free Or just "Start Planning" and make it apparent elsewhere that it doesn't cost money

I thought this is the way it typically works... students are admitted to PHD programs after a BA/BS, and they get a terminal master's if they drop out but it's definitely not a prerequisite for the program.
