I still don't understand why everybody is using Webpack when Browserify is easier, simpler, faster, produces smaller builds, can be understood by a normal person. Really, the big shift from Browserify to Webpack happened to fast and wi

Install everything from Google Play, that's all good. Never install anything from F-Droid, that's all bad. That's basically what this article is saying.

You don't want kids of that age to learn logic. You want them to learn imagination.

It's cool that they're doing something obvious and obviously useful this time. It's sad that we don't have a better way to send files to other people than to create a Dropbox account, upload files, then send a link over

Lawsuits, for sure. I never give negative feedback to anyone. I never say the truth to strangers because I fear lawsuits.

What actually happens when you try to force HTTPS over the internet: you centralize it, you make it harder for the small player, hobbyist, personal homepage guy, and make it easier for the big corporation.

Because it's hard and a pain. Sure, depending on your setup it's easy, but for a lot of setups it isn't. Instead of trying to say HTTPS is easy and shame everybody who isn't doing it more efforts should be diverted into

If there are no commits, maybe that means it is finished, stable, reliable? I would like more projects to be without commits and just work. I don't understand why there must always be new commits if everything already works.

Let me agree with your second paragraph, then. I've tried to include ActivityPub support on an app, too, and it was a nightmare, it kinda worked, but I ended up abandoning everything.

Your previous comment came closer to the truth: ActivityPub may work today _as a workaround_, a half-baked alternative to closed silos; but it doesn't have a solid foundation, its problems can't be solved by tweaks and improvement

People are pushing AP as a silver bullet. Look at this thread! Twitter is funding work to be done in more than an year and people are saying that should just use AP. And that analogy doesn't make any sense.

Thank you for saying this. ActivityPub is so wrong in so many ways, and still people keep pushing it as if it was a silver bullet. I think people who talk about it and think it's very good never tried to understand it or write somethin

I thought the eye scam was going to be that every time you do an eye exam you get _completely_ different results. I'm talking about cases of people doing 3 or 4 exams in the same month with different doctors and getting 3 or 4 differen

Well, I was never a grandmaster, but my amateur interest in Chess was killed completely after I realized it was impossible to beat computers. Then I switched to Go... and now I don't have a game to play anymore.
