As someone who thinks they understand both the upsides and downsides of Ruby, you shouldn't write it off. I find ruby to be really unsuited for projects with multiple people, but genuinely fantastic for personal projects or one off scr

This is a little bit off topic, but one thing that I wish python used is ruby's indicators for the purpose of a function. i.e. "?" for boolean returns, and "!" for modifying functions in place. In a language without

I don't usually have to go to these meetings, but I find it very convenient to have at least one person on the team who can let people know when they are reinventing a wheel that was already implemented by another team.

What about as a way to make sure the different teams know what everyone else is doing?

Is this really a product for "enthusiasts"? It seems to me like this would be far more valuable for servers and the like than "esports gamers".

I would agree that math an the real world are related, but not that the physical world should influence math. If you discover an interesting and self consistent system, than it seems that eventually there is a good chance you will find a co

I happen to be extremely well acquainted with one tenured professor of biological oceanography, and one tenure track professor of physical oceanography, and I can't say I agree with your observation. My experience has been that tenure

This was one of my professors favorite gripes. He loved to tell stories about how companies would reinvent algorithms (usually multiple times) that had been published in the 70's and 80's

Yeah, I was surprised by the picking locks part. That tends to be either loud or slow, and either way nearly as incriminating if caught as it is possible to be.

Guitars are great, partly because for the most part they are still built to last forever so investing in a good one isn't such a transient thing. I feel the same about kitchen knives, and surprisingly, headphones.
