The entire Algorithms book is available here: http://www.cs.berkeley.edu/~vazirani/algorithms.html I was taught under this book, and it was amazing. My professor told the class that while CLRS was an encyclopedia of algorithms, Algor

OnLive ( http://www.onlive.com/ ) is doing exactly that. My brother was looking into doing cloud gaming, but this company was so far ahead of him that he moved onto different ideas.

Look, I understand that any good movement needs eyes, but it's infuriating when you hear people state "nobody knows what we're doing, we're just running around and chanting." It's just plain irresponsible when people who have nothing to do

This was a ridiculous protest. Doe and Moffit (the two main campus libraries) were shut down, students created do not cross lines, and a bunch of idiots pulled the fire alarm in all the big buildings. Berkeley students with technical major

OpenDNS can filter all your internet traffic to block out any websites you choose. You can choose preset block lists such as phishing or scams as well as select specific domains to block.

For the record, that technique was developed by Jon von Neumann. It's called a randomness extractor. Obligatory wikipedia link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Randomness_extractor#Von_Neuman...

Technical question: He states that you should look at a pattern, look away, and then check to see if it changes. Supposedly it will change because your memory can only hold 7 +- 2 bits. Now if your memory is too small to keep this supposed

I understand the pressure, and it makes sense that we should treat them as respectfully as any other person. Yet, police should be expected to react rationally regardless of the situation. They should be prepared for all manner of verbal

I'm up to part 6, and this documentary is awesome. The only problem I have with it is that any of the North Korean citizens depicted have probably been sent to "re-education" camps for letting this filming happen. The makers of the film hav

I just did it naturally. When I realized it, I tried to listen in another way to see if it was just a habit or necessity. Needless to say, when I tried the other ear or looking in a different direction, I couldn't understand a thing.

One of the main issues I have with listening is that I need to hear abstract concepts in my left ear. It is a little troublesome because I tend to stare listlessly off to the right when I'm trying to visualize what I'm hearing. People tend
