I think the idea is something like "let things run normally until they don't need that extra core. If it doesn't need the core, we shut it down. And it never wakes up" Which... Makes it hard for the user to notice the ch

Just like adding code to textual models helps the model develop its reasoning capabilities, it seems like adding more languages helps in other areas too. What is needed is more good quality data to train on...

Ollama uses llama.cpp in the background. It's more of a tool to use models: you download models as if they were docker images, you have a centralized way to organize your models, you can create new models with `Modelfile`... It's

This is a very interesting initiative, and fills me with hope. Not only better temperatures, but even better air (PM2.5 levels reduced!) But I do wonder, what about insects? Are there more insects because there are more places for them to l

There are some! This is called "Docker in Docker", and you need to expose your docker socket to the container, which has some security implications. It can be secured, as gitpod does, but as I understand it is a PITA.

Typings in elixir are and will continue to be optional. This announcement says it is detecting pattern matching and guards at build time instead of runtime, so nothing is changing. And the "upcoming" (still in investigation) new t

In Brazil we have a right to return online orders in the 7 days of the purchase. I assume this is covered (I'm not sure). Steam does return the game if you have less than 3 hours in it.

I am hopeful developments like Mistral (a 7B model with the performance of ChatGPT for most of the tasks I've used it for) keeps happening. Seems like we can still compress a lot of knowledge.

I'm on Brazil and yesterday we had 30ºC (about 86F). It's crazy to have these temps in winter! And that was yesterday. Today, it is about 16ºC (60F). Crazy times! No one knows if they should prepare winter or summer clothes.

Putting the car in neutral should be tried first, since it disconnects the engine from the wheels. Handbrake stops the wheels immediately. At 10mph might not be that bad but still, neutral is the safest bet IMO

Could webassembly provide that? As far as I understand it can be seen as a target callable from any runtime (C, rust, python, the browser...) so a new language could implement wasm and all its libraries could be used?

Our radio waves have traveled for about 200 light years. Proxima centauri, our closest star, is located at 4246 Light years from us. Very, very unlikely that someone can hear us, even if they tried. Space is huge.
