No, they're not dropping munitions, they're simply coordinating with the Israeli military to facilitate the dropping of munitions, doing everything possible save putting boots on the ground (that we know of). So you're right,

Like all defenders of the indefensible, you will shift the goalposts incessantly to suit the narrative you wish to defend. First it was, "The British military isn't doing anything in Gaza, anyone who says otherwise is lying."

The UK military is and has been operating in Gaza, the UK government is just lying about it. Public flight tracking data makes it obvious.

Trump has made the idea of mafioso politics popular -- where you hold everyone hostage until they do what you want -- but that doesn't actually mean that it's good policy.

I would be money that already happens, for flagging in particular, since it's right in the line of the moderation queue. For downvotes, it sounds like significant infra would be needed for a product that generates no revenue. Agree tha

I agree with that. But one, it is on the site, and two, how can the moderation team reasonably stop bad actors from downvoting it? They can (and probably do) unflag things that have merit or put it in the 2nd chance queue.

Anecdotally I think that moderation has been a lot more lenient when it comes to political content in the last year than in years prior. I have no hard evidence that this is actually the case, but I think especially pre-2020 I'd see ve

Any lawyers around? I would assume (IANAL) that Section 230 does not apply to content created by an agent owned by the platform, as opposed to user-uploaded content. Also it seems like their failure to create safeguards opens up the possibi

Possibly. I think, at the very least, Garry Tan is a true believer. He's not proposing putting this in someone else's neighborhood or city, he wants it in SF, SJ, Berkeley, etc.

I think we agree? If LLMs will be included in classroom learning at all, it has to be done with an understanding of how it will affect learning outcomes, and it’s not clear that the effect will be the same as introducing calculators was, at

The calculator analogy doesn’t really work, speaking as someone who is more of an AI booster than skeptic. The addition of calculators to the classroom necessitated a change in pedagogy. So now kids learn how to do math without them, and th

The traditional way I heard it wasn’t that it was about prestige, but rather that programming became engineering-coded rather than humanities-coded. And misogyny did play a role there, one of the Turing movies had a great story line about i

Great point, and to drive it home -- TSLA is the only competitive non-Chinese company in the EV space. You could make the argument that it's one of very few successful U.S. manufacturing company winning on purely technical/capital
