Not having much experience with developing native mobile apps, I can only say what a pain it is to develop non trivial HTML5 apps that need to support a wide array of browsers. Your initial euphoria of 'oh wow I could make this thing f

This isn't just 'imperative, evented programming' though. It gives a clear answer on how to separate your code into concerns, although I agree that there isn't much forcing you to follow good practices. The problem with

I really love the minimal approach and a lot of it echoes my experience as well. One thing that I would love to see (mostly because I haven't found good solutions for it myself) is how CSS fits into the whole thing. The way I see it, C

I know the article tries to explain things in a way a layman can understand, but the wording when it comes to evolution is quite poorly chosen IMO. Saying thinks like 'Bacteria, like any living organism, want to survive' and '

I'm having a real hard time accepting the claim that, replacing one abstract symbol (a symbol for a shopping card with the + symbol) added 'graphic clarity' and made the ui 'closer to the the app’s core functionality and

I agree that the best scenario would be one carrier simply dropping roaming charges and other carriers eventually following suit, because of market pressure. However, the fact that this hasn't happened makes me suspect that carriers ar

Long overdue, especially for people living in the smaller EU countries, where driving ~3 hours in any direction will render your smartphone useless (or very expensive). Large carriers, which are complaining the loudest, shouldn't have

English is the 'most Latin' of the Germanic languages because of the norman conquest ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norman_conquest_of_England ). Since then, you could almost say that english has a double vocab

If the name of a function is already the memory address of the function, what extra information does the pointer store? Couldn't you just assign the name of the function to, say, an int?

Similar story in the German news the last few days. Looks like Audi, BMW and Daimler are being 'attacked' as well. They are being accused of using materials that produce poisonous fumes in their interiors.

Web apps != desktop apps, at least not for now. When I looked Cappuccino a while back, I was impressed by what it could do inside a browser in terms of GUIs. However, when I researched a bit how I could use Cappuccino to solve the problems

I'm curious to see how many people turn out to be allergic to insects. Again drawing the analogy to shellfish which are among the most common food allergens. This is not to say that eating insects is a bad idea in general, though.

Absolutely agree. The comment was mostly tongue-in-cheek anyways. Also, not having to switch applications is a great time saver of course. By the way, there are also great apps like Bowtie or Coversutra that add global shortcuts to control

can agree with the first but the second is just silly. In the metric system you would say 1.76m as 'I am one seventy six' just like you would say 'i'm five eight' for 5' 8" in the imperial system.
