I'd be very scared of IPA in an ultrasonic cleaner. Sounds like a recipe for a fire. Or is your machine perhaps designed for safe IPA cleaning?

It sounds like you have a strong inner monologue. Some people do, some don't. I don't subvocalize (no inner voice when reading). Words aren't involved when I think about stuff. I don't have an inner "voice" at

Huddles in Slack don't work on Firefox on Linux: https://github.com/aws/amazon-chime-sdk-js/issues/2044 . Works fine in Chrome. This is the only reason I keep the Slack "desktop app" around.

Funnily enough, we still don’t fully understand the mechanism by which static electricity is built up when rubbing things together. Professor Merrifield covers this in a very approachable way here: https://youtu.be/0UZb07imN

Not OP, but I’ve dabbled in nRF91 recently and found that once your application starts doing anything interesting (MCUboot, OTA, softSIM, etc.) the code size explodes. It is particularly difficult to keep TFM down to a manageable size. 1 MB

Related to your second point: "FCC seek comments on NextNav petition for rulemaking on lower 900MHz ISM band" ( https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=41226802 ). No, we are not about to lose the band, FCC is still de

I develop products for the 915 MHz band and became very anxious that I missed FCC's decision (none has been made yet). I agree with GP.

I doubt that key rotation is a significant contributor to energy use. Energy spent doing RF (transmitting) plus energy spent sleeping will account for over 90 % of the energy use. Source: I'm in a similar industry

How are they able to achieve sub-100 meter accuracy? I might be missing something, but In my experience, collecting the cellular parameters is the easy part. The challenge is knowing where the cells actually are. You can ask Google's g

Fun project! Did you look into NTN (Non-Terrestrial Networks) capable modules as an alternative to Iridium? I haven't played with NTN myself, but it seems modules such as SIM7070G-HP-S support LTE-M/NB-IoT as well as NTN networks,
