Why are you calling it an email client? It is obviously not. It is a proprietary front-end for Gmail, which is not even remotely the same.

It is a Gmail client, not an email client. The latter is an open standard, which is obviously not supported. That should be mentioned. Going from 0 to 9 USD / month is steep. Apparently, everyone has Silicon Valley salaries now, for so

This is wonderful. Thank you for creating Framework and making it accessible outside of the United States so early on!

Before people come to early conclusions, remember that this is done by Rudra Saraswat, a known figure in the FOSS scene. I guess it's more than just another distro doomed to die quickly.

The EU won’t be mandating on-the-fly replaceable batteries, like where you can simply remove the back cover like with old phones. It’s about making it easy to replace at home with a screwdriver and maybe a suction cup, and no glued-in batte

I did exactly that with a usb-c dock connected to an android smartphone to operate the keyboard. It was good enough for unlocking it. The screen partially worked, it was good enough to bypass the Passcode. A mouse works, too.

Yes, but during my trips to the United States I was surprised by the abundance of fireflies. I think it was the first time I have seen them in my life.

In Firefox, for example, you can deny every request for notifications in the settings. For the cookie thing you can just install “I don’t care about cookies”

I think it mostly depended on the vendor, like today, where Broadcom and Realtek suck a lot, Mediatek and Qualcomm a little and Intel/Atheros work just fine. I remember using Ubuntu 6.10 or so with an Intel card out of the box.

I agree. Unless it’s a cooperative or not-for-profit. Corporations only know one ethical guideline: break law if (possibility of a fine) * (fine amount) < (revenue through rule violation) Why should people act differently?

I’m thankful you posted this. As a male with ulcerative colitis, I have a continuous fear that I will get PSC some time in my life. I wish all the best for your daughter and while I’m not a US citizen, I wish I could support your cause.

They probably don't want to end up being replaced by an AWS/GCP/Azure service. In my opinion, the BSL is a fair license model, especially if it is limited in duration (let's say 2-3 years BSL then automatically changing

It would be great if authentication via SSO would be possible on clients that are not running the Tailscale client. A bit like Cloudflare Access. Currently, I’m using both to manage access to my servers.

Unfortunately, this enables vendors to prevent fair-use account sharing, and it looks like to implement some sort of DRM. My team at a small company used SurveyMonkey and only allowed two devices to login, and we paid for only one user lice
