Arguably form factor, i.e. smartphones and tablets. Whether you think that's incremental or not is subjective, I guess. I would say incremental, but it does solve a different set of problems (connectedness, mobility) than the PC.

Congrats on building and launching the app. Building a little tool to solve a problem you have is great. My only issue is that I'm mostly using the AirPods mic for meetings. I don't want to use my laptop mic because my impression

Ironic, given Flutter's infamy regarding performance (jank).

That's quite a larger fireball than I was imagining. If I were in that general area and not given a heads up, I would have certainly freaked out.

I was recently wondering if people can still make good money this way, with the proliferation and noise out there of online courses.

Right, the headline gave the appropriate context for the interview in a short sentence. Not everyone knows Kernighan created awk, as opposed to a respected person that happens to have opinions on awk.

Absolute bullshit. Though, I guess it doesn't measure accents idioms. The referenced paper seems to be using this database: https://www.hcias.uni-heidelberg.de/en/research-at-the-hcias... And even that data is kin

Fond memories of having a handy cheatsheet printed out for doing homework and chatting on MSN Messenger, until of course I memorized them (or maybe I printed it for the benefit of others). It was always odd to me that é was out of sequence:

We won't, as can be seen by everyone recommending having an LLM write your code.

Funny. I'm pretty sure I failed a technical interview many years ago due to the whiteboard exercise in which I used LOOP pseudocode to solve the problem. They weren't Lispers and assumed the code wouldn't work, but I was sure

How is this policy enforceable? There aren’t any reliable ways to detect LLM-generated text, are there?

Do you know how much people pay for tutoring for their kids IRL? You might find a college student willing to charge $25 an hour or whatever, but if you take them to one of those corporate tutoring places you’re looking at $400/mo at mi

Nice. Yeah, I was thinking as a rapid prototyping tool. There's a big gulf between Figma and something like a Godot prototype. The former can give you high fidelity in look, but not in feel (interaction).

This is great. Would you recommend Godot for prototyping UIs, in general, over HTML/JavaScript?

“My quasi-$500M Mars rover mistake” just doesn’t have quite the same ring to it. But, to your point, it is still a failure story that _could_ have lead to a much worse outcome than it did. The fact that it didn’t was mostly due to luck.

Very nice! Would love to find time to build a PICO-8 game some day. I’m a bit confused as to whether it took the OP 3 years or about a week to build the game, though: > September 18th 20203 - I think im actually going to commit...
