As someone who very nearly lost a family member due to the state's complete inability to implement and enforce preparedness regulations, and due to ERCOT's herculean effort to do just barely not enough to keep the grid online... r

I have never felt more at peace than when I took a weekend course for hand tool woodworking and spent the better part of an afternoon using hand planes to square and flatten stock in prep for the next day. The sounds and smells melted away

I would love to hear how people are building HTPC/media streaming setups using this kind of stack in 2024. I am very interested in replacing all my aging fire sticks with something custom built. Was considering just doing some RPi base

People keep paying for it. That's pretty much it. There's no legitimate reason for a game at the resolutions common to modern consoles to be that big. Then again, I guess you have to store all those textures for the $9.99 exclusiv

Companies pay in stock because it's not an immediate cash cost like salary, and because the value is tied to the success of the company which encourages employees to drive progress/profit for the business.

This is a fair point, once there is no longer a need for these satellites they will fall out of orbit, self-immolate in the atmosphere, and we can simply not replace them. It's a worthwhile tradeoff, in my opinion, to inconvenience a b
