In general neural nets today are so slow (due being computational resource hungry, in clock cycles, memory, and memory bandwidth) that even 4 of the fastest GPU's money can buy stacked together still take days or weeks to train a produ

So you think they should have included DDR4 RAM? (that'd be their only option to support >16GB). DDR4 has a bunch of really huge caveats, as outlined in the article. Did you read it?

Anything not-pro-clinton gets downvoted without explanation on any social media platform I've seen, including HN (which is supposed to be less biased, more objective, and superior to the other networks).

Simply put, it's because apps like Prisma have demonstrated that there are 100's of millions of people that want this. So developers are following the market demand.

To add to that, the FFA caps the maximum battery size to 100 watt-hours, which is probably the main reason why it's limited to 16GB. I posted it here yesterday: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=12841293

I would say that, strangely enough, the Federal Aviation Administration is to blame for the 16GB RAM limit. I posted an explanation why here hours ago: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=12841293
