I have an idea( prototype? ) for a search engine that could be disruptive, with a bit of luck. It has nothing to do with bangs and slashtags. I've hired a freelancing coder to do some "wrapping up" so I could show the prototype but it is ov

After unsuccessfully shaping it as a Facebook-killer? Google's PR department won't give up :)

No it can't. Stop shoving it into our throats. After Larry Page replaced Eric Schmidt, Google turned into company run by salesmen(even though Page had a really groundbreaking idea with his PageRank algorithm). It is not what it used to be i

And how about Google? They spam that political crap on the half of the internet during campaigns ( AdSense ).

It cut out the part after the '#' character. You've got results for 'C'. It is a bug. Try other searches without special characters.

I agree - many people are waiting for Google's replacement. People were laughing at Bing's quality, but it is really on par with Google right now. It's just that people are habituated to use Google's search. You can test this with this tool

I am not a fan of Facebook so don't label me as such. Google is known for its spectacular flops. The fact that they've used their cash to buy already successful services doesn't make them creative. I view google as completely unimaginative

The only thing that Google didn't fail with was search. Stop pretending there is anything else they've made which can't be labeled as mediocre copy at best.

Downvotes for writting the truth? Would you read a book about JAVA written by someone who never wrote a 1 line of code? Only looked what others did?

You won't learn anything good from reading books. Nothing, in written form, can prepare your for hardship of entrepreneurial life - it is tough, unpredictable and every case is unique. The only thing I read are (auto)biographies of successf

Many people treat it as such. http://duckduckgo.com/traffic.html Big part of society is actually concerned about their privacy. It is not like 99% of people are brainless zombies.

Page is running a company which has no regard for their users privacy. Don't try to make him appear good. He is a scumbag, just as any other CEO. He may have a great PR team but he still is a scumbag.

Doesn't change the fact that both companies show little regard for their users privacy. I haven't heard about facebook sniffing wi-fi packets though.

I believe that Facebook could make something like AdSense. They have vast quantities of info about people and their interests. Additionally, thanks to the huge presence of facebook tracking codes (Likes) on websites, they can track which we

People forget that Facebook still can be Google killer. They can reveal a better search (since their search function is used more than the Google's one). Even easier task for them would be creating an ad content network similiar to AdSense

Jobs didn't need a college degree to be a good CEO. In my opinion, college degree is not neccessary to be a competent CEO. Leaders are praised for different qualities than those which can be simply taught in a school.
