This article is what made me grok Git. I show it to people who are new to Git instead of a standard reference manual, because I believe this material makes you much more self-reliant.

So then what's the best way to do cross-platform development? For all its faults, Java does deliver something that resembles the "write once, run anywhere" dream. Any idea for a high-performance, cross-platform, native UI development stack?

I use Witch ( http://manytricks.com/witch/ ) which can you can setup to use alt/option-tab for window switching. This switches correctly, as in, with the same behavior as Cmd-Tab (LRU list). It is not free, but very handy.

I loved Jacob Kaplan-Moss's "Django Deployment Workshop", which he presented at PyCon and OSCon. In it, he shows how to use cloud servers (he uses the rackspace cloud) to scale multiple web and database servers and do load balancing. It is

Wow, I visited the Capital One page for myself and was pretty amazed with the results: interests where right aligned. I got different pages when switching browser (although you have to clear cookies/flash cookies), and also different credit

This reminds me of OpenBTS, the project to create an open-source GSM interface. A full dev kit costs about $2000. http://openbts.sourceforge.net/ They've been using this system at Burning Man to operate a free experimental cell network:

It's interesting that the profiles list the public followers and following stats. With some deep crawling, you could build a huge social graph from this data.

Chrome on Mac does look a bit weird, yes. But I feel that on Windows, this "non-nativeness" actually works to its advantage. As an example, by avoiding window chrome, the UI becomes more compact, taking over almost the entire screen for bro
