Do you think into account the fact that for non-native speakers this is complicated? Our application sounds a lot like a sales pitch but only because we have to train many, many times to make ourselves understood. Even if we're fluent in en

I used a $50 coupon I had lying around to direct people to a landing page for a product targeted towards gamers. Being able to be super specific in the people I wanted to show the ad too was nice and in return for the $50 I got 89 people in

This is a huge step forward for Netflix and [hopefully] for other tech. companies. The latin american market is huge (especially Brazil, a country that's exploding economically right now). If this turns out to be a good investment for them

We did, sadly their conditions on business travels and subcontracting are a bit more strict than what we're looking for. We left it as a last option and haven't discarded it yet, but right now we're looking for a bit more freedom.

Thanks for the kind words abbasmehdi! To move forward we need: 1) Money (to hire lawyers and to get access to the different banking systems). 2) Connections (to be heard within the big companies). We think an incubator can provide both of t

We were thinking of something between 30k and 60k. Most of our prospective clients are either startups or developers who make from $300-$4000 monthly on their webapps. We don't think they're the right audience to provide the initial funds :

Interesting. We want to go for LA first because: 1) we know the market 2) no real competitors (not even PayPal). But now that I hear this from someone else, it's something we'll keep in mind, thanks!

Some of you might already know about this, but 37Signals produces a series called Bootstrapped, Profitable & Proud where they interview bootstrapped companies with more than 1M in revenues. You can see a list of interviewed companies at

Before Google we never Altavista'd or Yahoo'd anything, I don't see why this has to be a problem. Also, please stop abusing the word "pivot" :(

I'm not familiar with RIM but your AAPL comment is just wrong. If you look at the data you linked you can see that the results of 2011 Q1 are almost as high as Q4 2010 (typically the best quarter of the year). It's lower than the previous q

There are two separate costs: one is the domain registration and the other one is the hosted DNS solution. With the hosted DNS solution you get access to stuff like the one click setups I mentioned earlier, API access, domain forwarding, va

I'm not sure how many domains you handle, but in my case I have less than 10 domains so I pay $36 yearly + 8 per domain transfer from GoDaddy (or $14 as you mentioned). With one click you get stuff like Google Apps or Heroku setup for you.

I can't recommend DNSimple enough ( http://dnsimple.com ). Pretty straight forward pricing, nice one-click integration with stuff like Google Apps and they'll even give you a discount if you transfer domains off GoDaddy.

My editor has been opened for 2-3 weeks now so I just keep piling the files from all the different projects. I prefer typing 'C-x b [strat]' to opening '~/dev/projects/something_else/lib/strategy.rb' but it might just be the way I'm used to
