I wonder what the "Lessons Learned" look like from the other side? Are they whiteboarding the best strategy for distributing the timestamps of commits? Mandatory performance evaluations on all RCEs? Distribute the poisoned commits

That effectively means you cannot share commit rights with anybody. How am I supposed to vet someone as not a state actor? Any plausible test could be thwarted by a motivated individual.

I imagine a first generation self driving truck would have very low threshold for unsafe driving conditions. Fog, rain, snow, whatever. Easier to wait it out or let a human drive. Southwestern US has pretty robustly good weather and covers

Sure enough. Pop open the archive and the gguf is right there. There is even a `.args` file where you could instruct it to launch a different model name.

I thought Windows could already run the llamafile executable separately and call whatever sized model blob?

by fbdab103 3y ago
Well, I was looking for any excuse to upgrade to AM5, so I think this qualifies. Question: if I already have a previous version .llamafile, is there a way to repack the model blob with the new llamafile executable? That is, say I have mixtr

What do you do with a 128bit integer? I already kind of consider 64 bit to be infinite. Maybe some performance optimization hack where you can use a big integer instead of a float for faster math? Skip right past 64bit unix time and give yo

How usable is Redox as a daily driver? Is it sorta-kinda works territory or is it possible to run a significant number of programs without hoops? Firefox? VSCode? Flatpaks? Can I run a VM inside Redox to fill in the functionality gaps?

There was a Planet Money story[0] about how legal growers are struggling because there is too much competition from not enough buyers. Maybe black market competition is to blame, but I would love to see some hard numbers on where the majori

I do not know why I read Golang issue threads. I always get angry at the we-know-better attitude. With just a dash of, "Well, that's not how Google does it. Why don't you just do better internally?"

Gasp. Big news. I do not recall ever seeing this, so I wonder if $JOB is running some hilariously outdated version for compatibility with a load bearing VBA script.

My significantly bigger beef would be all of the auto-formatting Excel does to mangle data. Excel loves to turn entries into dates. Human genes had to be renamed so as to avoid this Excel features.

Even if you could refocus all of the sun into a single direction, over stellar distances, wouldn't it have dispersed into nothing more than a bright star? What is the range of a putative Sol death ray?

The Wren language[0] uses semicolons as its size metric: Wren is small. The VM implementation is under 4,000 semicolons. You can skim the whole thing in an afternoon. It’s small, but not dense. It is readable and lovingly-commented.
