Sometimes I wonder how people can use mailing list without thread view, it is a mystery for me. :)

Same here, I read for a while and still don't know what it is.

For me, because it is the default, and there is section in homebrew FAQ tell that many build scripts breaks if it isn't in `/usr/local/`.

Last time I tried Google Keep is too simple for my taste. It maybe a good todo list to post-it note maker, but not for permanently notes that have reference value.

Last time I tried OneNote, its text editor allows click and type anywhere. I found this behavior is weird and there is no option to turn it off. I know it makes sense if we use touch pen, but not for typing with keyboard.

I'm going to install nagios or one of its forks. Nagios feels outdated, but I can't find anything else fits my requirements.

It looks great, but I prefer open source software.

That would be great. I want to monitor server resources, services status and functionality.

It is clearly a lie. Another lie, "Arch is as stable as you make it".

If you don't have experience with packaging, https://github.com/jordansissel/fpm is probably your best bet. And it is super easy to use.

What's the real advantage of this kind of applications? Every month I see something like hackernews-cli client, twitter-cli client, facebook-cli client. I wonder if is there anyone really use them?

Really? When I was using archlinux, it broke nearly every month. My wife uses Windows with auto update turn on and she never has a problem with it.

Todo list never works for me, I always use a calendar (google calendar sync to lightning). For note taking, I use simplenote (nvpy as desktop client). I'm not very satisfied with simplenote, but haven't found anything better.

A mail can be in multiple labels, but can only in one folder (copy doesn't count).

This is exactly my experience with thunderbird as well. I'm using claws-mail at this moment. The only thing to complain is, fetch mail in claws-mail is slower than thunderbird

I wouldn't call it crap-ware. Sure, it's turned on by default but there is an option to turn them off.

I don't see the point. If it's all about easy to compile and use multiple software versions, why not just install stow in your current distro?
