But now cigarette smokers can't use your toaster. Neither can grandma who likes smoked salmon for breakfast cooking on the stove nearby.

Consumer electronics have thin margins, you don't add features to facilitate a small subset of customers for whom this may be a problem. A toaster almost always has a mechanical or electronic timer, enough to prevent burning.

For the average Joe, inflation is usually the price of milk, bread and eggs going up. America being an agricultural colossus with plenty of farm subsidies mean the price of essentials will not rise. Hence the unique manifestation of inflati

Lets for the sake of argument assume that Lets Encrypt is a malicious actor. Can they easily compromise the security of the websites using their certificates?

Well I guess, now would be a good time for the CCP to mobilize for a sea invasion. Easily defused by letting SMIC breathe some fresh ASML.. I meant air.

Not agreeing with the poster of above comment, but you are right about that. I think this percentage varies across countries, societies and cultures. But I guess its a controversial topic to explore.

This is a good source that summarizes some of the primary accounts: https://foreignpolicy.com/2020/07/01/china-documents-uighur-... I am afraid this isn't propaganda unlike the above tweet.

The enitity that tweeted this statement forecibly sterlized women and is presenting the results as "emancipation". This isn't disagreeable, its monsterous and diabolical. The same limits that apply to serial killers presentin

ASML makes the equipment to etch on wafers. The best in the world I believe. ASML has thousands of suppliers in the EU.

Dew collection at night and massive evaporation of the Sahara during daytime. Not sure if this would be enough to sustain a medium sized tree. Whatever works in Netherlands may not work in Egypt.

Less than 500 acres planted using sewege water from cities. The rest (planting millions of acres of forest) is just a wishlist and the article is short on details.

The American population is heavily armed so that comparison is not valid. You need police to be well equipped to handle a 300lb man in body armour and fielding an AR-15 style rifle.
