I don't like the Turing test. It is nonquantifiable and is used to test something we don't even fully understand yet. It is also based on previous computing mindsets. It's like using a horse and buggy to determine whether a car is suitab

I'm gonna go ahead and call bullshit. Enjoying something usually comes after hating it. Did you love beer the first time you tried it? Coffee? Sushi? Programming? etc...

Have you tried just using VNC to access your macbook? This would turn the ipad into a windows, linux, and mac osx device, plus no monthly cost. Also, Android tablets could do the same thing. If safari won't cut it, try chrome. It seems

I know many find it creepy as hell, but I love this thing. Wouldn't be fun seeing it as an enemy though.

When the iPhone 3GS came out, battery life tanked on my 3G. They fixed that, after some period, only to break the reporting in the firmware. Now the device thinks it's dead after a few hours. Replace the battery, same life time. At this

Software and games have traditionally driven obsolescence. Now that software is shifting toward efficiency, remote processing, and web based interfaces, we don't need the power as much anymore. It was easy to double the processing requirem

I think that was the point of the meeting. They saw that there was a developer in the space they wanted to enter. They could have just undercut him without a thought, but instead offered to work with/buy out his product. This happens. Mi

It makes sense for corporations to pay for support if it costs less than hiring a team of people to do it. If that is the strategy a company uses to make their products more accessible to me, I'm all for it.

Many people say that they have this or that application that keeps them clinging to windows and for me it has always been games. If it weren't for games, I would never use windows on any of my personal machines again, let alone purchase it

This article is written on the assumption that if someone can get it free, they won't pay. I find that truly hard to believe. The piracy demographic is usually limited to two groups- people who believe they are beating the system, and peo

Being somewhere in the middle of that timeline, I'd watch that movie. This piece reminds me that an authors vision is always more important to communication than the subject itself.

I think this is more an issue of the English language. English is not a good way to speak math or logic. In the bat and ball question I mistakenly (and I'm guessing everyone who got it wrong) ignored the word "more". That word represents
