Paying off your mortgage is one of the absolute worst investments you can possibly make in an environment where house prices are rising. If they stay still or decline by all means, pay it down faster, but otherwise DO NOT pay off your mortg

In 20 years we're all going to be laughing at how barbaric and abusive all these forced arbitration clauses were.

Yeah one anecdote, ageism must be solved! Good job Google, we did it! You see why people criticize the orange site for worshiping corporate a bit too much?

Yep. What was even more bizarre is how they never really acknowledged it might be a problem, they just keep taking this arrogant attitude that the plebe users are wrong and just don't understand this amazing new data feature. It was th

Gypsy is considered a slur by some nowadays, probably shouldn't drop that casually anymore. Sorry, I hate language police too, I'm not actually offended just letting you know in case you drop it in a meeting someday. I'd argu

I don't think anyone at Facebook has the bandwidth to deal with a mean tweet from an old employee right now. If rumors are to be believed mass resignations are coming.

Nobody at Facebook pushed a button, but the article was edited to remove an unflattering reference to Sheryl Sandberg after a phone call from Facebook PR. Also, just because you work(ed) at a company it does not mean you are fully aware of

I think all of google search results are increasingly becoming more and more "filter bubbly" too, I have to anonymize completely or I know I'm just going to get bullshit results. This announcement is hilarious, their products

Yes, I think we are ready to grow out of the "arrogant jerk" phase of tech. The tech wizards who build things and run these companies: 1. Are not smarter than you 2. Do not have your best interests in mind 3. Will lie to you repea

I'm pretty sure google (and some of the more obnoxious CDNs) just give more rounds of the captchas to networks they despise (including tor and vpn users), if you try to be anonymous at all they want to punish you for it. Understandable
