I moved to th US from Italy a couple of years ago and I was (still am) fascinated by the silly obsession with San Pellegrino water. Seriously, $2.5 for a pint of water? People here see San Pellegrino about the same way in Italy we see Evian

You can set the date you want your app to be available, independently of the review date (of course the later one wins).

How does that have anything to do with using a browser or not? Surely you could do the same thing on any other OS.

People are still bickering about the GUI, and that started at least forty years ago.

That could be done on the client side, reading the text on the page, like I assume they do for every other AdSense-enabled page.

Oleg, your vision is exactly what I like about Gitbox. Git is a toolbox to create your own VCS, Gitbox takes a stance and uses those tools to define a usage model, without tying itself to tradition. It doesn't work for hardcore users and ev

That limits functionality quite a bit. Say you want to write an email or messaging client (K9, Handcent), your solution prevents you from doing name/address autocompletion in the To: field.

On iOS if you want to use Facebook but don’t want to grant it permission to access your location, you can still install and use the app and just deny it when the permission is requested.

That’s not perfect either. It’s granular from the developer point of view, but it’s not for the user: when you install an app you either grant it all the permissions it requires (before you have a chance to actually run the app and see what

A: True, but “mind-numbing” does not mean “quite difficult”. Also, if you have 400+ Facebook friends you wish you hadn’t I think it’s your fault, not Facebook’s. I don’t expect any service to provide marginal functionality like that. You do

Actually, you can just hover their name anywhere on the site (including your friends list), hover the “Friends” button and click “Unfriend”. It hardly gets easier than that.

No. Paging for reading long form is much better. See Instapaper or Flipboard. Text selection is a problem, but you don't solve it but throwing away the rest (Instapaper has a solution, for example).

Doesn't really solve the issue but you can globally disable per-application restore in Preferences and you can use Cmd-Opt-Q to make apps forget currently open windows instead of manually closing documents.

It's called advertisement. I'm sure Google wouldn't describe itself as "a good search engine. Most of the time works pretty well, but if you search many common words you'll only find spam".
