It is important they understand what is really happening though, or else they're in for a few surprises.

In Iceweasel/Firefox you just go to preferences -> content -> advanced, and then tick the box that says "force sites to use my font".

I'm surprised this wasn't a thing sooner. I found out I could modify my github commit calender thing like over a year ago. Awaiting for mainstream abuse (hilarity) to kick in now thanks to this! :)

Hey hey hey now...I said C# and Haskell , not F# ;) F# has some (from what I've seen) more readable syntax than Haskell.

I'd like to see Haskell vs C# code that demonstrates this. In my opinion Haskell just fits more code onto a single line and is much less readable.

There is already encryption for email. It's called PGP and it works really well already.

I second this. Setup roundcube and postfix in about a day on a remote server, and now for $5 a month I have control over my email (make sure encryption is enabled when communicating with it, obviously).

That just means we move the bar a little further. We write an answer for programmers who know next to nothing about cryptography and security measures.

Personally I find this really unsettling for non-technical users. Almost asshole-ish. It's funny to us...but seriously providing a real answer after all that would even be sufficient. Not just answering with a "yes", but wi

So what did you stick with? Im having the same dilemna...I think PHP, Java, JavaScript and C# are the way to go. So far focusing on just js and php has shown noticeable improvements...

Yep, as a 5+ year vim (then nvi) user...emacs was a eye opening text editor and gets way too much hate for no reason...people say emacs is not modal...but everytime you press control, alt, meta, hyper or super, you enter a mode...then every

This is primarily why I'm focusing on strengthening my JavaScript skills...There are tons of start-ups looking for back and front-end devs. Your comment also makes me want to get back into Java and C#...I've taken the time to lear

I, like everyone else in this thread, wanted to run an SMTP server from home, only to realize port 25 was blocked. Now I rent a VPS from DigitalOcean, and availability is like 99.999% and run SMTP and other daemons no problem. I love it. So
